Anthony Shelley, Mary Lou Soller, and Jason Workmaster will speak at the BlueCross BlueShield 2022 National Summit on May 3-4, 2022, in Orlando, Florida.

Shelley will present, "Whose Court Is It Anyway?: Shifting Power at the U.S. Supreme Court," on May 3. This session will explore the shifting dynamics at the Supreme Court and what it means for decisions in key cases affecting the healthcare industry. Shelley will discuss some of the Supreme Court's most pressing current cases including ones on vaccine mandates, ERISA, ACA section 1557, Chevron deference, and the Medicare Secondary Payer Act.

Workmaster will present, as part of a panel, "What to Do when the Auditors Come Knocking on Your Door: Best Practices for Preparing for and Responding to Government Audits," on May 3. In this session, panelists will discuss how best to prepare for and respond to government audits. Topics to be addressed include common issues that arise during government audits, best practices and procedures to ensure a smooth and successful audit, and how to minimize the risk of adverse audit findings.

On May 4, Soller will present, "Across the Ethics-Verse: Current Legal Ethics Issues in Practice." Using hypothetical scenarios developed from real Blue Plan situations, Soller will provide practical advice on some of the important ethics issues faced by Blue Plan attorneys and their outside counsel.
