President Biden signed an executive order prohibiting new U.S. investment in China in sensitive technologies such as computer chips, quantum information technologies, and certain AI systems. This comes on top of CFIUS laws of years past, the CHIPs act restricting U.S. persons from working for Chinese semiconductor firms, and the U.S. "entity list" barring U.S. companies from doing any form of business with certain Chinese companies. Panelists will discuss how international companies can still do business with the world's second-largest economy while avoiding working with restricted entities and whether there are more rules and regulations in the pipeline.
