Webinar: White Collar Investigations Impacting Corporate Executives - Fall 2020 Key Developments
Lauren E. Briggerman and Katherine E. Pappas will present "White Collar Investigations Impacting Corporate Executives - Fall 2020 Key Developments" on October 29, 2020.
Despite the onset of COVID-19 and the impact it has had on courts around the country, significant activity affecting corporate executives has occurred in recent months. Criminal sentencings have resumed and investigations are ramping up. As the virus has spread among jails, white collar defendants have increasingly filed to be released to home confinement and many of those requests have been granted. The U.S. Attorney's office (USAO) for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) has suffered some significant reputational setbacks as a result of failing to provide defendants with exculpatory evidence and using retaliatory tactics. Although it is unclear when courthouses and federal criminal investigations will "return to normal," it appears that investigations, charges, and sentencings are moving forward. This webinar provides an update on new and expanding investigations, noteworthy sentencings, and the latest out of the SDNY's USAO.
