Gregory Bates and James Tillen explain in this article that corruption in Latin America remains widespread, despite government efforts to curtail it, but businesses operating in the region are rising to the challenge. In the second of two articles exploring the results of the 2024 Latin America Corruption Survey, organized by Miller & Chevalier and 14 collaborating Latin American law firms, the authors examine what steps companies are taking to guard against corruption in a region characterized by minimal confidence in government efforts to reduce it. The authors highlight strategies that companies operating in Latin America have adopted to respond to these risks.
