"Given the pervasiveness of cartel activity in these countries and the Trump Administration's focus on curbing illegal immigration and combating drug and human trafficking, companies operating in Latin America now face new and heightened risks as a result of these designations and, more generally, should anticipate increased enforcement of US criminal laws in ways that could implicate them," the authors wrote.
