The Guide to Compliance – Third Edition: Introduction and U.S. Compliance Requirements Chapter

Global Investigations Review

We are pleased to share the publication of the third edition of Global Investigations Review's The Guide to Compliance. Alejandra Montenegro Almonte co-edited the edition and co-authored the U.S. Compliance Requirements chapter, "DOJ and SEC Increase Compliance Expectations with Updated Requirements," with Ann Sultan and FeiFei Ren. The Guide "combines a tour d'horizon of the rules in place around the world with specific practical advice for corporations and their counsel."

In their chapter, the authors discuss the four main sources of guidance on compliance requirements issued by the U.S. regulators, including the latest guidance from the Department of Justice (DOJ). "Although the guidance provided does not constitute requirements or obligations mandated by US laws, together these documents define US government expectations and set the standards to which the DOJ and the SEC hold companies when evaluating their compliance programmes in criminal, civil and regulatory enforcement actions," the authors wrote.
