"Your Contract Termination Has Been Reversed. Now What?"
Washington Technology
Jason Workmaster discussed the situation facing government contractors, as agencies under the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency are terminating contracts for convenience, then reversing and reinstating them multiple times. Workmaster noted that while terminations are typically final, Federal Acquisition Regulation 49.102 allows reversals if there is a clear need and benefit to the government. "Contractors who want their contracts reinstated will want to do their homework and demonstrate... that restarting the contract benefits the government," Workmaster advised, even suggesting price reductions "to make the deal better for the government."
