"Business Not Optimistic on Tax Reform in 2014"

The National Law Journal

Marc Gerson commented on the prospects of tax reform in 2014. Business executives from U.S.- and foreign-based multinational corporations, across a diverse set of industries, believe tax reform is unlikely this year, according to the annual survey released today by Miller & Chevalier and the National Foreign Trade Council. "You layer on a particularly challenging and dynamic year because of the elections and change in tax committee leadership, and, because of that, it's viewed as a very difficult year ahead for tax reform," Gerson said. The survey identified divided control of Congress and weak support from President Obama's Administration as other hurdles to 2014 reform.
