Marc Gerson was quoted regarding legislative action on the "tax extenders" package, a version of which was recently approved by the Senate Finance Committee. Gerson said there's little time left on the legislative calendar before lawmakers' thoughts will turn toward the midterm elections in the fall, and as a result serious legislative consideration of the package may not occur until a special Congressional session after the elections. "At this point, there is still the conventional view that this will come up in 'lame duck,'" he said.
