Marc Gerson was quoted regarding the outlook of tax executives towards tax reform in 2014. Respondents to an annual tax policy forecast survey by Miller & Chevalier and the National Foreign Trade Council believe tax reform is likely off the legislative agenda this year. Reasons given as to why reform is a low priority include changes in legislative committee leadership, the pending Congressional mid-term elections and competing legislative priorities. "Respondents don't believe comprehensive tax reform can be enacted given the current legislative and political environment but are hopeful that short-term priorities such as the tax extenders package will be addressed," Gerson said.
