Marc Gerson was quoted regarding a technical corrections package proposed by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus. Included in the proposal draft are technical revisions to recently enacted legislation such as the American Taxpayer Relief Act and the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act, as well the American Jobs Creation Act passed in 2004. Gerson said Baucus's draft is important due to the volume of significant tax laws enacted since 2007, which is the last time Congress passed any technical corrections legislation. "The natural result of enacting tax legislation, even if you had all the time in the world, is that inevitably there are things that need to be fixed through the technical corrections process," he said.
