Marc Gerson was quoted in the second installment of a four-part series profiling congressional tax staff members voted among the Top 10 in a Tax Analysts survey. Regarding Thomas Barthold, Chief of Staff for the Joint Committee on Taxation, Gerson praised his "encyclopedic" knowledge of the tax code, its structure, and how its provisions interact. Barthold draws "fantastic" insight from failed and successful past attempts to revise the code, Gerson said.
