Marc Gerson was quoted regarding the limited impact on tax reform following President Obama's State of the Union address. "The State of the Union was generally disappointing from a tax legislative perspective," Gerson said. "Similar to prior State of the Union speeches, tax reform was not given a high priority -- it was given only brief references. Given the position of the administration on these issues, it is unclear what can be accomplished from a tax perspective, particularly in the relatively short window of opportunity before the presidential campaign begins in earnest."
