New York Times

The New York Times highlighted Richard Mojica's comments on President Trump's plans to impose tariffs of 10 and 25 percent on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China. While a 30-day pause is in effect for the proposed tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods, the President insists these tariffs will only increase costs for foreign countries, asserting that importers of record are foreign companies. Mojica explained that, in contrast, importers of record can be of any nationality, noting "importers of record are typically owners or purchasers of goods and are usually U.S. companies."
