50th Anniversary Meeting of the Southern Federal Tax Institute

Marc Gerson, Stephen Gertzman, Larry Gibbs, and George Hani will be speaking at the 50th Annual Southern Federal Tax Institute from October 19 to 23, 2015 in Atlanta. This conference will discuss federal tax matters with a focus on recent income tax developments, business taxation, accounting, ERISA, ethics and estate planning.
Gerson, along with James C. Gould, will present a Legislative update on October 19th that will review recently enacted tax legislation and provide insight into the potential for comprehensive tax reform.
Gertzman and Hani will present "Accounting Methods: What's New? What's Old (But Little Known)? What's Scary?" on October 21st. This presentation will discuss the various means of resolving accounting method issues, including the effects of the new procedures for requesting method changes.
Gibbs will present, along with William D. Elliott, on "Key Changes in our Federal Tax System Over the Last Fifty Years, and The Role and Impact of Practitioner Professionalism". This presentation will also be on October 21st and will afford attendees the opportunity to consider in the context of their individual practices their obligations to the administration of our nation's tax laws.
