American Bar Association Virtual 2024 Fall Tax Meeting

Joanne Roskey, Samuel Lapin, and Candice James will speak at the American Bar Association (ABA) Virtual 2024 Fall Tax Meeting on September 24-27, 2024.

Joanne Roskey will co-present "Welfare Plan, EEOC, FMLA, and Leave Issues Update." Her session will cover emerging trends in group health plan design and administration and related guidance. Discussion topics include drug coupon and assistance programs, state regulation of pharmacy benefit managers, prescription drug plans, and ERISA preemption, and HIPAA privacy and security compliance related to ownership of protected health information, reproductive health care privacy, and substance use disorder patient records. 

Samuel Lapin will speak on the panel "I 'Realized' I’m Missing Something: Back to Basics on Moore and Loper Bright." Lapin's panel will explain the fundamental concepts at issue in two recent Supreme Court opinions that will have significant impacts on tax law, Moore and Loper Bright, before turning to address the opinions themselves and their potential impact going forward.

James will present, as a part of a panel, "Live Well, Lawyer Well." The panel will discuss tips on preparing for time out of the office to minimize stress and fallout for yourself, your colleagues, and your clients.
