Larry Marino joined Miller & Chevalier in 2000 and serves as the firm's Executive Director. In this role, Larry oversees administrative operations and works closely with the Firm Chair and Executive Committee to implement the firm's strategy. Before serving as Executive Director, Larry worked with personnel firm-wide to ensure network and data security and improve business processes through technology as the Director of Information Systems. Larry has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University and an MBA and a Master's in Information Technology from Virginia Tech.
Tara Doyle joined Miller & Chevalier as the Director of Information Systems in 2022. She oversees the firm's network operations, user services help desk, and security. With over two decades of Legal IT experience, she remains an active member of the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and contributes to various topics related to legal technology. Tara has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and remains a constant learner.
Sara El Hashem, Director of Legal Support, works primarily on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations and monitorships and litigation matters. She has also worked on several class action lawsuits, multi-district litigations, mediations, and pro bono cases, with experience in various state and federal courts. She is focused on e-discovery, attending e-discovery conferences and trainings in many review platforms. Sara has a B.A. from American University.
Julia Mattson has been with Miller & Chevalier since 2014, and is currently serving as the Director of Attorney Recruiting & Professional Development. In this role, she collaborates with firm management to develop and implement strategic talent initiatives. With over a decade of experience, Julia has valuable expertise in higher education and legal recruitment where she focuses on entry-level and lateral talent initiatives, campus relations, mentoring, and diversity efforts. She is an active member of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) and the Washington Area Legal Recruitment Association (WALRAA). Julia holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Peter Mayer joined Miller & Chevalier in 2018 and is the firm's Director of Human Resources. He works with staff and attorneys to provide support and assistance in areas including employee relations, human resources policy, performance management, compensation, benefits design, and staff recruiting. Peter has more than 30 years of experience in human resources in a variety of industries as both an in-house practitioner and an external consultant. He has over 17 years of experience in human resources management in law firms in Washington, DC. Peter holds SPHR and SHRM-SCP designations and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, as well as a Master's in Business Administration.
Maura McCarthy joined Miller & Chevalier in 2019 and became the Director of Library and Conflicts in 2024. Maura manages the operations of the Library and Conflicts/Business Intake departments and provides research and reference assistance, including competitive intelligence support, to lawyers and staff. As Director of the Conflicts/Business Intake department, she is involved in new business intake and conflicts analysis and resolution. Maura has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Ursinus College and a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from Drexel University.
Julie Merkin joined Miller & Chevalier as a Senior Business Development Manager in 2015, and became the Director of Marketing in 2020. Julie has over a decade of legal marketing experience, and previously managed inside sales teams for a professional services company. Julie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from James Madison University.
Tammy Pagach joined Miller & Chevalier in 2001. She manages the firm's Accounting, Finance, and Benefits department. She is responsible for and supervises activities related to budgeting, billing and collections, accounts payable, insurance, cash management, financial analysis, and payroll and benefits. Tammy has more than 20 years of law firm accounting and finance experience. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.
Kurt Solis joined Miller & Chevalier in 1995 and manages the firm’s Records, Services, Facilities, and Food Service departments. He is responsible for implementing policies and procedures that will improve the day-to-day operations and has more than 32 years of law firm Records experience, 25 of those in management, and over 17 years of Service Management experience. Kurt is an active member of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA)..
