Jim Gadwood Elected Fellow of American College of Tax Counsel

Washington, DC, May 17, 2024 – Miller & Chevalier announced that Member Jim Gadwood was elected Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel by the Board of Regents of the College. To be eligible for nomination to the College, a lawyer must have been in practice for at least 15 years, with a career principally devoted to tax law and tax-related matters. In addition, the lawyer must have demonstrated a high standard of excellence and ethical conduct in the practice of law through active involvement in the taxation committees or sections of national, regional, state, or local bar associations, through significant legal writing or teaching in the field of taxation, and by holding senior-level positions involving tax policy or administration.

College president Bahar Schippel welcomed the new Fellows at the College's May meeting, saying "Our 14 new Fellows bring a range of diversity and tax practice experience to the important work of the College in advancing sound tax policy and effective tax administration." 

About the American College of Tax Counsel

The American College of Tax Counsel, founded in 1981, is a nonprofit association of tax attorneys in private practice, law school teaching positions, and government, who are recognized for their excellence in tax practice and their substantial contributions and commitment to the legal profession.
